Really digging the new E-class
Man, it's bringing my M-B enthusiasm back. I haven't really liked or wanted badly a M-B since the W124 and R129. This new E-class is striking. Love the front, even like the commercials. Man, if I really had the dough I'd get one, and I'm not one to get into all this buying new car thing.

Not a big fan of the new E-class. I mistook it for a Lexus GS from the front when I first saw the commercial. and the back end resembles a cross between a Lincoln Zephyr and an older Infiniti Q45. Honestly I'm not a huge fan of any of the new MB offerings style-wise. If I had to go with one it would be the C-class, the S looks classy as usual but not particularly nice. CLS is looks "cool" but the proportions don't work for me.

We test drove an E Diesel on Wed. It just didn't have that MB feel to me.

I saw my first new E-class yesterday afternoon, it was stopped next to me at a red light and I was able to give it a good look. I actually thought it looked pretty good - it seemed to have more of a 'edge' (literally) than the previous e-class.
If the reliability holds up I'm certainly in the market for one..... in about oh I'd say about 2022 give or take 5 years.

Their pretty nice, the only thing that bothers me is the shifter is in the wrong spot.

I'm not bothered by column shifters. I had a manual column shifter back in the day -- three on the tree -- and that was fine too. The shifter is always right by your hand.
And on the M-B, you'll find it hard to spill your drink into the steering column.
