You were ready to bolt, but he was able to talk you into it. What exactly did he say...??

Ya, have you re-joined the W126 club?

From the looks of it that car has all the goodies except for ASR...

BWT what is up with that passenger side airbag Did someone smash it or something? It should look like this:

What do the city / country horns sound like? I've thought about retrofiting them to mine but wanted to hear them first.

I'd rather buy higher mileage so I know it was run regularly and I know its had some parts replaced already.

Did you run a carfax? Maybe there will be a mileage report somewhere in there; it would almost be worth it to call the salesman's bluff. Carfax is free at the moment, you know; did you see that thread?

Oh, no way. I passed on it. I was joking before; it needs way too much.

Same reason why I passed on the one that I looked it. It had been sitting for 3 years in a garage without being run. All the belts needed to be replaced and I wasn't thrilled with the condition of rubber in the suspension either. The biggest turnoff though was the radio which I couldn't get to work and the 1980s speaker wire that was run haphazardly across the back seat (As in you had to move it to actually sit in the back) He wanted $5,000 or so....it would have cost at least that much just to get it back up to my specifications and thats before you got to the condition of the front seats.
