Knew that.
Let's go with an engine.... That was actually more of a helicopters in general statement. "+5'n" is not a fun configuration. Been there. Done that. Spooky.

That's why the copilot has the capability to dump those 25,000 lb. of logs in about 1/2 second............might avoid the "dead" part if he's quick and only one engine fails.
............now............anyone on the ground beneath the aircraft.............. ![]() Been there myself............my stomach was deciding that this deal wasn't all that exciting................. |

I wouldn't think anyone would really need to push the pitch on an S64.
![]() So, you had a ride looking aft, I take it? ![]()

His explanation on why the boy made the "show" remark is not especially solid. IMHO.

Last week I flew two young couples (in their early 30s) from Weatherford to Dallas.
I used Shelby’s 407. The two men faced aft and after about 20 minutes or so into it, made the comment that they didn’t feel so well due to not facing forward. Figuring they all had a sense of humor. I slowed the ship down to about 15kts and spun it around. Got the speed up as high as I felt comfortable holding it flying backwards and asked: “How’s that?” They were a bit shocked. But laughed and said “Much better.” Not liking how it would affect their ETA, it didn’t last long though. Next time you take an S64 ride... Make that request and see how it goes over for ya. ![]()

The lifting part...........one log at a time..........where the aircraft moves wildly sideways to align with the weight as is comes up..........now that I could have done without. It's a 45 minute turn............and I was counting the last 20 of them............. |

Well...
It was still a very cool ride, that very few get an opportunity to take. I’m a bit jealous, myself. I did some ski lift tower installs years back in a Bell 214B. Another cool opportunity taken. They had the static pitch of the blades set +5 due to the loads and altitude/temperature issues. All was well until the afternoon crew experienced a “burp” setting a tower down. By the time the auto-relight kicked and they dropped the tower off the 70’ chocker. About 2-3 seconds. The main rotor speed had dropped beyond recovery. (Serious drag issue) Lost both the crew members that day. RIP guys Now, I think they are doing it in pieces with an SA315 Lama or a Soloy converted Bell 47. (both are awesome ships to work with)

The guy's routine is full of holes. First off, where on the balloon could the kid have crawled in at? He would have had to cut his way into any interior pocket.
And even the way the dad asked the kid why he didn't answer when they called him (just before the kid let the truth out) sounded posed and false. Guy thought he could outsmart a bunch of other grown-ups. One wonders how this bizarre brush with fame will affect the kid in decades ahead.

Falcon's Mom Spilled the Beans
Mayumi Heene told sheriff's deputies that she and her husband, Richard, "knew all along that Falcon was hiding in the residence" in Fort Collins, according to an affidavit used to get a search warrant for the home. |
