Sold the E500, decesion for the future.

Despite the healthy sale price this one hurt really bad. What an amazing car.

I mentioned selling the wagon and another MBCA member referred me to his sister and brother-in-law. She has a Jeep Grand Cherokee pushing 120k, and 3 boys. She was sick of SUVs and hates minivans. We test drove with the parents, myself, and 2 of the boys who chose to sit in the rear facing third row. They had test driven a R-class a few days before with a 29k price tag and were turned off by the looks. (just like everybody else)

Anywho, she loved it, he loved it, the kids were telling her to buy it, and they told me they'd take it on the spot. I told them I needed to sleep on it, which I did.

Hal went off to his future life of soccer practice runs this afternoon.

I'm left with a wad of cash and am trying to decide whether to plan for the future or have one last hurrah as a kid before graduation and mediocrity.

Here are my two options:

Option 1: (Safe) Purchase a nice used truck or SUV with a decent towing capacity to bring new cars home. Save the rest to scope out future older MB deals and for startup costs of my business after graduation in May. No risk, more planning, no stress.

My first car ever was a Dodge Dakota Sport and I would probably get another one of those. The 7k tow rating is more than enough to handle what I need, though I may want to upgrade the brakes. Easy life, but boring.

Option 2: Buy an expensive sports car I've always wanted at an amazing deal, enjoy for 6 months or so, flip, then go back to option 1. More risk, more reward, more stress, more fun. Live with no regrets.

Anyone taken the safe road in life and regretted, or vice versa?
