What are the types of spyware?

If it's a Vundo varient type of trojan, updating the JavaVM will kill the trojan.

You can tell if it's a Vundo trojan by the type of spyware. Is it Antivirus 2009? Or some other malware saying you need to pay cash for it to remove the infection?

Vundo is a tricky bugger to get rid of. I recommend if you can't install the Javavm then wipe the entire computer.

Other then that use firefox and install the adblock plus plugin to avoid future problems.

Good luck dude!

Ok I went to Java's website and downloaded the latest version. I also went through my computers program list and deleted a lot of old stuff, and cleaned it out.

http://www.superantispyware.com/

How is this spyware program? I have used it and it seems to work pretty good.

I don't know what kind of spyware it is, I think it was a trojan of some sort. I remember seeing trojan on the description.

I found this program running, winlogon.exe. Is it legit or spyware?

Damn whatever this is, it does not want me to open a spyware/adware program. It just forced my conputer to restart 3 times when Ad-Aware tried to open. It just flat out won't let me run Superantispyware.

Any ideas? I have the vista start up disc around here somewhere. Should I wipe it and start again? How do I do that?

Is it doing that in safe mode?

Can't get it into safe mode.

How do you wipe and reinstall? I don't have recovery discs.

F it, I have already wasted enough time on this. I'll bring it to the computer mechanics tomarrow so they can fix it.

OK, you've suffered enough. As mentioned earlier, download malwarebytes and run it in safe mode if possible. Believe it or not, Microsoft has come out with a top rated anti virus/spyware program. http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/ If you still have a problem, install the free version of logmein from logmein.com, pm me and I will log in and fix your problems. I'm not a computer expert although the government seems to think so, but I will be staying at a Holiday Inn Express tomorrow night.

Damn Hatters those restore discs are gold. You need them.

I wouldn't waste time or money on those paid geeks. Unlike our cars those "mechanics" are truly infact useless.

What make is your computer? If it's a Dell you can call them and have them resend you a disc.

I might be able to scrounge up some restore discs if you can tell me what model computer it is.
