We Distort, You Decide

Once Again, FNC Producers Roll the Wrong Footage

Fox executives, embarrassed by the flap, are considering "serious disciplinary action" against someone in the control room, according to our friends at the Swamp.

In the control room? So, a producer in the control room can instantaneously punch in archive footage from 2008 for a November 2009 report?

Actually, yeah, that could probably happen pretty easily. I'd say the footage is all archived digitally, and it might not be that hard to hit the wrong footage. Just judging by how easy it is at a newspaper to click the wrong photo or accidentally use a photo from the wrong NHL game ... it's not hard to believe that's what happened here. Is it what happened? I don't know. But it's certainly happened at other news outlets.

FNC "We alter real life. You are sold a preconceived narrative."

cmac2012 11-19-2009 04:28 PM

Hannity is w/o blame. In all things. In his "apology" about the wrong footage on his show the guy made it clear that the real stooges in this story are them at the Daily Show.

Stewart had some fun with it:

"By contrast, Fox presents an alternative reality where Republican hypocrisy, scandals and abuses of power are either spun into something they are not or, more frequently, simply not mentioned at all. As such, the depths of the historically unprecedented failure that was George Bush's presidency remain virtually unknown to Fox viewers. In the bargain, as the young Obama administration moves forward, attempting to deal with countless disasters they've inherited, issue after issue now comes as a complete surprise to the majority of Fox's audience."

reading that reminded me of someone being lost in space

nothing bush did or did not do was reported on fox - being told by pundits it was not means --?????????/

believeing what i have read you have said makes me think

There are two theories to arguing with liberals. Neither one works

MTI 11-19-2009 06:04 PM

There's no need for anyone else to "argue with liberals" . . . they do it well enough amongst themselves.

Unlike the mono-flavored "conservative" side of the coin, there's diversity of thought, aplenty, on the liberal side.

Exactly. It's a sad commentary that this organization exists solely for the purpose of discrediting the administration and not for any accurate news presentation whatsoever.

You can see the results of such programming on certain individuals on this thread.

MTI 11-19-2009 06:37 PM

Contrary . . . it exists, like all commercial media outlets, to generate income by apealling to a market segment that is underserved by anyone else. Murdoch products are hardly different than those from General Electric, Time Warner, Westinghouse, Disney, Sony or for that matter, Larry Flynt.

It doesn't take a PHD to realize that the sole purpose of Fox is to agitate the ultra-conservative base and gain eyeballs.

Sorry that you're unable to comprehend it, but I make no apologizes for widely known truths about the network.

Like most on the far right fringe, you'd done nothing but state Fox News positions.........you're clearly incapable of substantiating any conservative position.

In the future, you'll probably earn some additional trolling violations because of the lack of any substance in your posts. If you want to rant about the administration, there are plenty of forums for that. This is not one of them.

Sorry, I honestly believed that there was some integrity in the news business and that the truth was to prevail above all else.

What a fool I've been.

It's no different than the practice of law. My own attorney will never go to the mat on a principle. If there is any possibility of settling the case........at any value.......it's better than spending the money and time on a trial. Another sad commentary of our times.
