No, not immediately anyways. He told me I need new tire beads, and that was causing the vibration. I didn't have the time to wait, because he had to order them from JC.Whitney for me. He also said he had to get some kinda special sealant from Elmers for the lug nut gaskets and it would take a day or three. After that, he can take care of the vibration issue.

While you're at it, ask the parts guy for a bottle of K9P -- good stuff.

What is the actual lifecycle of a new Helsinki Smash Rod and are they actually available anywhere while you're out on the road? Maybe I should buy an extra and keep it in the trunk.

Any thoughts?

My Dad once took his '84 Camaro to a Firestone shop for an alignment and tires. The only reason he went there is that he had a discount card given to him from a customer... (10% over wholesale cost... a pretty good deal.) The service manager wrote up an estimate for nearly $1800. It included every wear part in the front end, a new "steering rack" (third generation Camaros had a conventional steering box, NOT rack and pinion) and 5 (yup FIVE!!) new tires. You have to fold down the rear seat of that car to get a full size spare in the back! Oh, and all this was on a 3 year old car with about 35k on it.

The thing is Bob, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.

Sarcasm is lost in text. Are you serious?
