under doctors care I took medication
carefully Monitoring my results
keeping a diary of each day.

It sounds like you are saying you were taking psychotherapy drugs, and felt better so you stopped taking them.

Most people with bipolar disorder will quit taking their medications because they "feel" better.

and what if he has in his life at this point matured

taking meds under care forever is also not an option
