Reid: Sorry for ‘Negro’ remark about Obama

“Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid apologized on Saturday for saying in 2008 that Barack Obama should seek — and could win — the White House because Obama was a "light skinned" African-American "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."

“After excerpts from the book appeared on the Web site of The Atlantic, Reid released a statement expressing regret for "using such a poor choice of words. I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African-Americans for my improper comments."

Reid is over the top and a continual embarassment to the Democrats. I hope they pull the rug out from under him this coming election.

Remember when we used to have to wait for "hot mic" flubs to catch politicians in verbal hot water?

Yup, they seem to be getting dumber; now they say stupid stuff on the record.

Its really nothing new. Pol's have always been capable of incredible gaffs and plain stupid things said.

Include in that any type of famous person who routinely gets a mike shoved in their face. Tom Cruise, Jimmy the Greek, Howard Cosell and the list goes on....

I will admit that today is a whole different situation with the internet....a fellow can say something silly and the news will beat him home.

This time next year, Harry is gonna be a fry cook at a casino..... What an idiot. hard to believe he is the Senate majority leader. This says something ominous about the state of affairs in DC

I doubt that will happen, incumbents have such an advantage for reelection.
They have the power to bring the pork to their state, both dems and repos.
So they keep winning elections.

Reid has always bugged me, too wimpy and apologetic. Have a little old school punk anger about social injustice.
