Sorry guys, but that's not how we roll.
How about being like say other countries that have rules about legal immigration?

They know how stupid we are which is why they take advantage of it. As they say "A sucker is born every day". I have yet to see any part of the world besides here where people are proud of their stupidity and the fact that they are being made suckers of every day, every hour.....

I was just making fun of the unintentional irony in the original post.

We all know the story with illegal immigration, no-one in power (either party) really wants to do anything about it, so it's not going to change. I don't think it's a big issue, but I guess some people do.

Which state would that be? Every state now is a border state because we were stupid.

As I said before, the nickle and dime approach is working. Ask for a big chunk up front and people balk. Enough people like you that get nickled and dimed to death BUT don't know it and they have succeed. I think they took a page from the Romans with the bread and circuses. Keep the citizens distracted and don't let them focus on anything and you can go on your merry way.

You misunderstand, I simply don't care about this issue; it's not important to me.

Yeah, this concept of rules and laws is pretty boring and has no relevance to anyone. But the circus is coming to town this weekend. I hear they have fresh bread.

If the nation has laws and is too weak to enforce them, does anything else matter?

of course not: you seem to have an above average income. Try being a wage earner in a border state or interior state with an abundance of illegals. Say a carpenter, a roofer, a laborer. Try to live on the prevailing wages paid to illegals, who can get by with paltry sums because they live 10-12 to a 3 bedroom house...Then try to raise your family the best that you can. The American dream has been stripped away from those folks, be they black, white, hispanic or asian...

of course, I bet you get a good deal on yard work and a cleaning girl....

Try finding someone to work at a fast food restaurant for $8/hour in many parts of this country. I think blaming illegal immigration for the current economic conditions is just a little too simplistic. The "american dream" is something you create for yourself by getting off your butt and getting an education and/or a job (in another part of the country or the world, if necessary). This issue is a red herring.

umm, no it is not. not everyone can be or is cut out to be a college or even high school graduate, nor is that desirable. why cut out the most unable to find meaningful work by hiring an illegal who will work for less than the legal wage? we are disenfranchising an entire part of our citizenry

The stressing of the infrastructure also a red herring?

I'm not talking about the town of parker. I know that I live in a white-bread suburb (actually I live in an unincorporated portion of the county, near parker), I'm talking about the entire area. There are significant illegal immigrants in the area and there have been several high profile raids of businesses around denver in recent years. I also assume that good data on illegal immigrates would not be available. What's the point?
