We got a little bit of slush / accumulation last night (Hampton roads), but it turned to rain and then nothing has seemed to stick since. Not bad at all.

I hope the roads are clear by Monday, I need to head to Gaithersburg!

Have fun guys, nothing up here in CT, just cloudy and a bit chilly.:D

If we had a storm like that I would be out on a sled tearing down the empty roads.

Bel Air, MD has about 30" on the ground. I shoveled 20" earlier today, so my walks have "only" another 10" or so to make them clear.
Maybe 6 more hours of this?

Craig 02-06-2010 12:58 PM

I might take a little motorcycle ride later today. :D

A tree limb just went down on my Jaguar Convertible. Wife and neighbor trying to get it off. Doesn't look good.

I have insurance on the Jag. Power went off right after my previous post. On battery power with my Verizon myfi. May have to find a hotel that will take three dogs. Not sure I can walk to the car though.

Any chance of someone getting to the store and buying a generator?

Nothing open around here. Found a hotel about ten miles away. If the power isn't on by 5pm, we'll load up the xterra or ML and plow our way out. This ought to be fun as I can't really walk at the moment.

Hope you get some power back soon.

Looks like most of you got off easy. I went out this morning to brush off and shovel out my Subaru. I took 2 swipes with the shovel and went back in the house. I will post some pics later.

BTW. My sister lives near East Stroudsburg, PA (heart of the Pocono Mtns) and they didn't get anything.

Here in Philly the official count was 18" this morning and we picked up a few more inches since then...so it looks like a hair under two feet. I'm hoping nobody swiped my car, had to park it on a hill next to a stop sign. Powerpig, good luck I hope you are able to find somewhere to stay...wish I could help.

I'm at a good 30" in Highland md, perhaps more.
I've done about 6 hours of moving the stuff around with my tractor. Only got stuck once on the neighbor's long & sloped driveway.
The plows have only made 3 passes from what I can tell.

tbomachines 02-06-2010 06:16 PM

My car got hit pretty bad in the snow :( Luckily the guy left a note, but haven't gotten ahold of him yet. The police officer who responded told me it was an older local businessman so it looks like I may be the 1% of lucky people who actually is able to sort out getting hit when nobody is around. Totals look a bit over two feet, Philadelphia's official count was 26.7"....
