I almost bought a K31 at Cabelas this weekend. I went in for ammo and they had racks of Mosin Nagant 91/30s and K31s! The K31s are HEAVY! I do dig the straight pull bolt!
I had just picked up a Spanish Civil War M1893 Mauser so I had no pocket money for the K31 I should have picked up a Mosin though for $99!

Only problem with the K31's is that ammo is a little hard to get. Its not that hard, but you can't just walk into your average gunshop and expect them to have 7.5 Swiss.

The K31 is a nice rifle. Mine is so accurate I'm considering entering next years Washington's Birthday rifle match at Ben Avery in Phoenix with it. But it's no K98, Hatterass. You still just a poseur till you get one of them

May want to set yourself up for reloading your own ammo. I read they're using .308 bullets. If your state still allows for mailorder ammo, it shouldn't be too hard.

Anyways, congratulations to the new aquisition. I still don't get it, why not go for a pre '64 Winchester, a Remington 700 BDL or so
