Maybe somebody can enlighten me on this discrepancy.

All of the posters on this thread achieve a response time of about .2 seconds, give or take, to the change of the light from red to green.

Can anyone explain why the first individual at the real traffic light has a response time of 7 seconds after the light turns green before the vehicle begins to move?

There is some variation, but it's never less than four seconds.............???

Can anyone explain this anomoly?

Brian,
You dont actually think that the person is paying attention or watching the lights? Cell phones, music, annoying kids in the car, attractive young ladies on the side walk!!!

All who have posted on here probably went through on the previous yellow light any way!!

These new automatics lurch. They have to prep so as not to take off too fast.

For some its as easy as a loud horn or a quick smack to the head !!

For the others I'm sorry to say but its chronic ..... Extreme cases can be fatal !

Is there an audible test? I think I might have a quicker reaction to a sound (click) than the visual since I have a difficult time staring at one spot for very long.

I can't explain it but I can say that i've recently received much praise for matching my clicking reaction time to my green light reaction time (Always watching to make sure it's safe of course )
