Thumbs up Pacific

http://www.hbo.com/the-pacific/index.html

HBO is streaming the first episode for free if you sign up.

I watched it and its amazing, probably going to be as good as Band of Brothers.

CG has come a long way though since Band of Brothers, the battle scense are amazing. I'm going to re watch it this weekend at my friends house since he has a built in theatre.

As they were heading to the beach, I remembered my grandfather saying that the guys driving the landing craft would disable the governors and run those engines up to they would just about explode to try to get a bit extra speed out of them.

This is good to hear. I was wondering about this series when I first found out about it. I'll be sure to check it out this week; thanks for the heads up!

You won't be disapointed, IMHO this is going to be the show of the year.

The first episode aired this past Sunday, but I'm sure it will repeat throughout the week on HBO if you missed it.

It was fantastic.

I watched it on line Monday: it was simply fantastic. My dad & uncle were both in 2nd MARDIV and fought in that battle....
