I personally would rather have one nut job go free then an innocent man get killed because of some military intelligence officer saw him as a threat. I pay for the priviledge of being judged fairly.

I wouldn't worry about it, we don't have a clue what the real story is. People who make these types of comments are the intended audiance for the public story, just tell them what they want to hear and they'll eat it up. Like it or not, there is a domestic political angle to these issues; bread and circuses, as always.

I can think of hundreds of situations where you'd be an innocent bystander and get nabbed up in a criminal investigation.

I hope you never have to deal with an investigator whose only wish is to prosecute someone with any law that sticks. Be careful what you're asking for.

I agree Craig. However it is still unsettling that they're doing this. I fear for the future of this country with acts like this.

If you are a live barbarian, I would think that it is a better position to be in than a dead (insert term here). IOW, you have to be alive and in a good position for that to matter. I understand, but you have to seperate the real issues from the story that the government tells the unwashed masses. Their covert activities are much worse than anything they will tell the public. Unfortunately, all nations act like this; the US is no better or worse. The best way to deal with any government is to stay out of it's way and hope it leaves you alone.

To do that, we'd have to stop asking the govt to do things for us. As I have said before, they can't even do what they are supposed to do without scamming, why involve them in more?

Personally, I do my best to ignore the government and hope they will return the favor. Of course, I do have to send them a big check on April 15 to keep them pacified.
