If you are a live barbarian, I would think that it is a better position to be in than a dead (insert term here). IOW, you have to be alive and in a good position for that to matter. I understand, but you have to seperate the real issues from the story that the government tells the unwashed masses. Their covert activities are much worse than anything they will tell the public. Unfortunately, all nations act like this; the US is no better or worse. The best way to deal with any government is to stay out of it's way and hope it leaves you alone.

To do that, we'd have to stop asking the govt to do things for us. As I have said before, they can't even do what they are supposed to do without scamming, why involve them in more?
