Exactly, that was pretty much my point. If you believe the whole militia argument, you were born about 150 years too late. If you want to own some guns, you need a better reason; or just tell us that you like to own guns.

They are just cool. When I was a kid I played with toy guns and in video games. Now I'm slowly buying all the stuff I wanted when I was 10.

AK74
92SF
FN Fal
FN Scar

Those are on the next list.

Guns seem to have no effect on the Mexican invasion.

He has every right to buy and own guns because he enjoys them. It's a legitimate hobby, and it is protected by law.

yes. he may. and will.

i just don't understand having lots of instruments of death floating around. it's bad enough that some people are allowed to get behind the wheel of a car. ( i witnessed a senile hag back her car into the entrance of my bank last week. ) some of these folks - not mr hatteras - want to carry guns in parks, in public, in coffee shops, everywhere. why not swords and scythes too?

Personally, I agree with you but that doesn't change the law. It is probably legal to carry around a sword too. I do think that there can be reasonable limits on guns without violating the second amendment.

Why in the world would that guy choose to carry around five pounds of scrap metal unless it was part of his job.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace – and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

i know. i'm rambling. and my point seems to be lost - even to myself.

The cuckoo clock was invented in Germany and there were certainly plenty of Swiss inventions at that time as well.

Their are many good reasons to own guns.

Frankly I never plan on growing up, its boring. Everytime I shoot my 1911 or Sig I'm 10 playing N64.

I spend good money on my hobby, and I support a lot of American company's by doing it. I just ordered two new cleaning rods for $80 from Dewy and they are in CT.

Didn't the majority opinion cite reconstruction legislation that gun ownership permitted the freedmen to actually enforce the anti-slavery laws?
