They are intended to be pretty low profile. Most people don't know what they are.

I just saw one of them yesterday driving around about half a mile from my house! First time I had seen one on the road!

I've seen one at a dealer, another in NYC and a 3rd going up the Merrit Parkway. Now that is exclusivity, you don't get that in a Rolls Royce Phamtom My one disappointment with the Maybach is that I wish the cockpit and controls were more unique to the brand. Beyond that I have no complaints.

Give me a 57S and a windy road. I will make her dance.

I like cars that you can actually throw into corners.... And have confidence.

They would be fun to drive, like a VERY fat lady who can dance! I think they weigh about 6k.

I'd buy one over a Rolls because they are more low profile, they don't scream I have money.

I think Top Gear put it best, "they are built to impress the people who can actualy afford them."

Last year I drove most of the way across Idaho following one. Just some guy cruising along all by himself. Most people would just take it for a S-class with a funny badge.

When you pay Maybach prices you can have any color scheme that you want

Yep, and they also have rooms that can simulate the sunlight in any part of the world so you can see how it would look in say NY and than LA.

The color is pretty much totaly custom, you could bring in your favorite tie and they would match it.

When driving it, the very THOUGHT of power-sliding that sum 'na ***** would be enough to make you drop your lipstick into your coffee.

Nothing more expensive to own than a cheap Maybach.

Actually I've always wondered how many of the parts on them are Maybach specific as opposed to being lifted from the S-Class.....

If there are crossovers, I'm sure they have their own unique part number and their own unique Maybach pricing. It's not unlike RV parts to marine parts. Many are identical, but the part numbers are different and the marine parts run 20% higher.

I can only begin to imagine what sorts of electronic gremlins will start running rampant 20-30 years from now.

At pep boys we could actually order the air filters for them back in '05. Like $80 a piece. It took two.

I'll buy one someday. However if it were today, this afternoon. I'd buy a loaded to the hilt Pearl White S550 with a warranty over a 6 year old maybach with miles on it.
