what if you weren't speeding but the cop says you were?

BTW, in the past, this happened to me. as a result, I am on the lookout for a speedometer or speed rating system than can verify speed over distance (averages, highs and lows over distance) with 100% accuracy. like a black box for aircraft, something that could be admitted as evidence in traffic court. if anyone knows of such a device I am all ears....if and when I find it, it will most likely be made in Germany......

That's when you go to court, with your lawyer.

courts tend to recognize evidence, thus the need to prove what speed the car is currently traveling at and a history of speed traveled over say, the past five or ten miles. otherwise, cop's word trumps your word, lawyer or no lawyer. Judges hear people say they weren't speeding all day long. I want to build a case that is irrefutable. with today's GPS technology there is most likely a system that can do just that. I'm thinking black box recorder. when I find it I will post it on the forum for others benefit. why pay a ticket when you were NOT speeding?

OK, I think I'm onto something. they are known as Satellite based tracking systems for parents of teenage drivers. the following link highlights possible advantages. notice the amount of $$$$$ the police are putting into the case trying to defeat the teen driver.

doesnt work, they have a precedent that says the officer can use his judgement, no device whatsoever and still ticket you for speeding, and it will hold up unless you find a way to discredit the officer, that will almost assuredly backfire on you in the court.

nothing personal, just letting you all know they dont need to show proof anymore. This allows an even broader range of abuse for money strapped precincts, and theres naught we can do about it

I understand that it's not fair, I just wouldn't bother to fight a losing battle unless it was a huge fine or they were trying to take my license. If it was a big issue, I guess I would try to have a lawyer make it so complex and expensive that they would give up on me and pick on someone else (the OJ defense).
