Maybach Prices

.. are coming down to earth, approaching $100K!

2004 Maybach

Will they ever replace the trusty old W126 for quality German engineering? Nah, I suspect they will stay in the old Rolls-Royce bracket, due to the low production.

A year ago, Dr. Z was quoted by a German publication that profitability was not a concern with the Maybach brand, it was never intended to be a profit center.

The problem is that no one wants a 5 year old model. If you are interested in the "image" you are better of with a new S-class for the same price. That car may be of some value in 20-30 years because it is relatively rare.

I'd prefer the 62, I want someone to drive me around and the speaker system to shout at the peasents!

They will soon go the way of the VW Phaeton in the USA, the Edsel and the dodo bird.

Doomed because nobody really wants to buy one.

I'd like to find one - a 62 in a junkyard. I'd pull one of those reclining, full length first class my lazy boy airline-style back seats that fully reclines, because, you know, like, the ex wifey stole the Lazy-Boy in the divorce. lol

Don't forget the Saddam Hussein-style flame throwers that came out the sides of his fleet of matching half a dozen 1988 White 560SELs with matching license plates that would be shuffled back and forth amongst each other, in the convoys, into Iraqi towns, so the would-be assassins could not figure out which one he was riding in.

Yes they are if you have a $100K tool box in your garage.

They're real pretty, but normal people do not drive such cars. They are for oil maggots, blood sucking bank CEO's and pit-bull fighting football players. A 100K dollar Maybach is the equivalent of a 30K MBZ. Buying the marque without the metal.

I have only seen one on the road. It was in Houston on the freeway running from Downtown to Sugarland.

It was nice, but if you did not know what you were looking at.....
