AMG had many flavors back in the day. didn't have to be engine modded to be one. could have been as simple as AMG putting a so called performance package together such as rims, suspension/bodykit...
My car, even though it does not have the motor, it does have the AMG body mods and has a modified suspension. Would I love the motor, hell yes. Have I badged it as AMG, nope, but could I? why the hell not, 95% of the people out there wouldn't even know it was not a real AMG car. Would we here on the boards know it? Doubt it. If you saw my car driving around with an AMG badge you sure as well would think it was the real deal. That car in the auction is frankly only ok. The motor in there is probably sweet. The shifter, looks out of place. the nitrous bottle, a bit too much. IF the car had the motor done but the original MB shifter was tied into the tray somehow, and it looked stock mercedes on the inside it would look way better. I applaud him for making the engine fit and run, but thats about it....

Well the sale ended at about $1225.99, probably what its worth !!
