It would have been nice if the self professed "rodeo clown" would have clarified his opinon that the President is a racist and shows a dislike of "white people" a bit sooner . . .

I haven't heard what SP's view might be, but GB maintains they have the absolute RIGHT to build it, but it might not be the right thing to do if their goal is to build bridges.

I'm not comparing Beck to Hitler but to Goebbels. He's been caught (Beck) slanting the truth if not outright lying many times.

Hitler was an ogre but there are plenty of power hungry, unethical fools still out and about.

The Hitchins' piece represents his POV, and he is entitled to it. After that, there isn't much to say about it. I think his view is totally, and utterly wrong. But then that isn't exactly surprising, is it?

I've listened to enough of his ambulance chasing to have a good idea of where's he's coming from. In '03 I worked with a guy who was way into talk radio so I'd listen to those guys on my headphone radio at work and we'd talk about it.

Beck was a hoot on the radio in those days. He loved nothing better than finding someone he could go on about with "SCUMBAG!" references. Remember that guy who was supposedly selling a package where guests would use paint ball guns to "hunt" bikini clad ladies wearing goggles?

Beck was all over that guy for a couple of days til it came out that it was a publicity scam, that the guy was selling some kind of porno and that was it. Never even happened in Beck's mind, off to the next fire.

These days dude mixes maybe 40% fact in with a lot of ax grinding. A glorified morning DJ.
