If true, you cannot defend the statement:

The devil is in the details.

Most of these newly graduated women from outside the state will gravitate to Manhattan..........any of the outer boroughs would be considered unacceptable. Therefore, the statement by Craig is correct.

However, if you allow this young woman to live in the Bronx, you are also correct.

Don't bother, Brian.

I don't think we are all on the same page regarding what is an acceptable standard of living for a young lady in NYC. I do not know her exact income or rent, but I got a pretty good idea of the round numbers from her dad (who was not thrilled by the fact that she was moving there at all). My only point was that it's a tough place to live on an entry level salary. It's not worth arguing about the details.

I go shopping for a few odds and ends at the "supermarket" right downstairs from the GF on the upper east side.

She is living in Manhattan, there is not a chance that her dad would let her live elsewhere in the city. Knowing him, I'm surprised he didn't just buy the whole building (One of his other friends did exactly that when his kid moved to NYC for a job).

I realized it was folly in my long term rental car, trying to find a retail establishment to relieve my bladder in, in The Bronx. You nailed The Bronx quite accurately. My business was up in ?White Plains, NY.? -on up the expressway......

I could find a super nice furnished room in a private home to live in - in Queens, or maybe even Brooklyn in all of perhaps 3 days of arriving at La Guardia by airliner from DFW. If my job included commuting in to Manhattan, I would not even need a car. Newsflash to outsiders; I'd take the subway to work.

Better yet, I'd probably opt to live in Jersey. I'm just sayin' a story like craigy's doesn't even begin to make sense without details. craigy lives in what "Denver?" That's all.....

As I mentioned above, the reference to NYC is specifically with regard to Manhattan.

Young female college graduates will not live in the Bronx..........or Queens.........or Brooklyn for that matter.
