Like i said, they think it cannot happen to them and they think it is ok to milk the system since there will be others who are so concerned with their well being that they will pitch in and risk their lives for free.

I see. So you don't pay thye $75 and I have to tack on a huge fee and hope you pay or run thru collecti9ons?

As opposed to risking life and limb to save property of a non-payer who is trying to leech off the others who pay? Who is the dirtbag there?

How so - "obviously"??? You don't know the answer, so you toss out a unsubstatiated comment.

Put the $75 and whatever fee onto the property tax bill.

So $75 buys these peoples desire to do their job? They need a new line of work. Replace them with actual people, instead of these automatons.

Perhaps that should have been done IN THE FIRST PLACE?

It doesn't even pay for the wear and tear of the equipment.

You mean, replace them with saps who allow people to thumb their noses at them and then go crying to them later on like the guy's son who got pissed at it. Guy got what he deserved. Why should we feel sorry?

Life wasn't lost. Makes a good object lesson.

So why should they have even more expenditure? Like there are resources aplenty?

Human Compassion? Good hump day joke. A good look around and you can see the splendor of human compassion going around. My dog has more and better compassion than most humans. I have as much real compassion as human beings have shown. I don't have as much as my dog but there it is.

I have ZERO compassion for people who purposely choose a bad path and end up in a bad way. OTOH, if you say a meteor hit his house and he lost everything of sentimental value, sure. I don't believe in protecting YOU from YOUR OWN stupidity.

Ah, Good Old Beck. You wouldn't have a point to make if you couldn't toss his name in. But still, do you have a point? This is a great object lesson so I'm good with it. Are you saying he should have the right to do as he pleases WITHOUT the full consequences?
