2011 Mediocrity car

Subaru launches 2011 Mediocrity marketing campaign

Poking fun at bland, middle-of-the-road sedans, Subaru has launched an ad campaign hawking the "2011 Mediocrity."

I think I'd rather have a mediocre car than a butt-ugly one like subaru has been making for the past decade, although the new Legacys aren't too bad

What? It's a hoax? I'm almost tempted to get back my 50% deposit I made for a beige one. It was the "sport" package. I mean, mediocrity might be good enough for most folks but I want to be a hair above mediocre! Not that having average length brown hair is anything special or above the norm.

Those things would sell like hot cakes if they were cheap. Just look at the Camry, its about as interesting as a dish washer. But people love them.

I love, "This car is an exact replica of a car." That's a perfect description of every ricer/domestic I've seen in 20 years.

It looks like the marketing campaign failed.

Subarus may not be the prettiest things on the road. But ... you can still get a lot of models with a real 3-pedal transmission. You also get a real 50/50 AWD system, not wrong-wheel-drive with a transfer case tacked on.

I see them for sale here $3000.00 - $950.00, with an average 250K miles.
1993 SUBARU LEGACY

A surprisingly good car for the money.

I had a '79 4WD wagon that I drove to the junkyard after logging 110K on it. Prior to my ownership, it had 150K on it. It was driven to the JY with 260K on the clock. The only reason i got rid of it was that it was leaking so much oil, and I was getting tired of add JB Weld to everything to keep the oil in!! LOL

I then picked up a '93 Legacy wagon AWD, new, and put nearly 300K on it over 12 years. I used it for everything...daily driving, throwing newspapers, hauling household items, plywood hauling, as well as kid hauling. I sold it only because I was afraid it would start needing major repairs.

I would love to get a new Forester next year. Those darned cars will last forever with low maintenance costs.

a car for all reasons

I've run up over 22k on this '11 Outback Premium I got for cash last year.

Does fine for everything, and never a single problem of any kind, with it.

Perfect for heavy snow too.

Supposedly gets 29 mpg on cheap regular fuel.

We just bout a 3.6L Outback wagon, great car - lotsa' power from the flat-6. It would smoke our old 560SEL.

MPG mixed driving is 20, not so hot.

Now this is their latest offering. It's basically a jacked up Impreza. I'm still waiting for them to make a truly good looking car aside from the BRZ, particularly the Impreza.
