If you don't like the choices provided by the main two party's vote for someone else. If enough people get off their lazy butt's and did that then we would have 3-4 party's in this country. But they don't they either don't care, or it makes them feel better to look down on the process.

The reason things don't change is because people don't want them to, its easier to do nothing.
That's true. However last time around, first time voting in the US for me, I researched the alternative parties out of disgust with the two main ones. The alternatives were frankly even more stupid and less relevant than the D's and R's.

Please don't refer to me as a "citizen" or include me in any american "values."

Craig, not to be overly critical, but that sounds really arrogant; almost like a spoiled child, ( if I am reading you correctly). Its like, if my candidates don't win, then I wasted my vote. What a silly remark.
A candidate wins with 50.2 to 49.8 % plurality is not the same as a candidate elected by a 70 to 30% plurality.
Do not allow the the "perfect" become the enemy of "the good". Stop looking for a Messiah to solve all the problems ( although they all run that way), and look for candidates who think like you, or ones who think somewhat like you.
There has to be a candidate who you prefer on some level to the others.

I mostly took umbrage because I thought you were mistaking me for the comments by SRJ, for which there is no excuse.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I don't care if an individual candidate wins, loses, or spontaneously combusts. I want nothing to do with the american political system or any actions taken by the american government. It is not a matter of party politics, the system is completely broken; I want nothing to do with it.

I do finds some political figures more offensive than others, but I don't recall one that I would allow to walk my dog. The best I can expect is that they will stay out of my way and limit their criminal activities to the usual amount. I'm not complaining, I'm just recognizing the current situation and choosing not to participate.

Why not renounce your citizenship? You can probably save money on taxes.

I know that is it my duty to vote (or choose) but I think this time I will exercise my right not to vote. It's like making me choose between two liars....what's the difference?

Hand your child the keys to the candy store and then tell him not to go in?

In light of your anti-America views - it may in fact be highly likely you'd not be confused with being an American.......
