Its supposedly arriving today. I don't think I've been this excited about a vehicle since... the C36 AMG maybe?

"spoke" to the driver and he won't be making it until tomorrow. His English is not very good, but seems like a nice enough guy.

Que Coche uhm car?
Huh?
He repeats.
OH! Mercedes-Benz.
Which one, Tengo 3?

I tried my best from my 1 year of Spanish and said:

Zero Dos SL quienentos Silver. De Florida to Wichita

Ah okay, coming tomorrow. Call my wife, her English es better y you spanish no good.

That's precisely who my home remodeling guy defers to - the wife. Maria schedules Juan's work schedule is what I learned.

Wife says tomorrow now. Originally they told me a Monday delivery date.

I'm officially irritated. I was expecting the driver at 6:00 and only after I called multiple times (voicemail box full) that I got an answer.

Unfortunately you can't help this stuff. I'm satisfied with auto transporters about 50% of the time.

Shipper really dug himself a hole this evening.

He was over an hour late for his arrival time. Lost one of his ramps somewhere on the highway and was improvising with a scrap piece of metal. When he started to back the car off the final level, the bumper caught the sramp and broke a one or two of the bumper clips. The guy's reaction time was slow...

Rather than owning up immediately, even though I whitnessed it with my own eyes, heard the clip go POP right there in front of him, and the bumper mere inches from being ripped off he told me it was like that before and pointed to his condition sheet. Yes, there were a few scratches on the far bottom of the bumper from where you'd pull up to a curb, but the bumper was fully secured. He asked snidely if I went to Florida and saw the car for myself, and I explained that I paid to have the car fully inspected by Manheim. Manheim doesn't mess around with their inspections, noting even the smallest fly turd on the car. If they caught some of the things I can't even see, they would have noticed this, and I would have saw it BEFORE he unloaded it off the truck. Nice try, loser.

He called his brother in law who spoke perfect English and we hammered it out. I have his insurance form, but most likely I'll be able to make it right again without spending more than his deductible.. If I didn't' know a guy with an amazing ability to "weld" plastic, he'd be looking at an insurance claim. I could have been a much bigger a$$ about it, as the driver insulted my intelligence, but the BIL was much more professional and business like.

I gave them half of what was owed, and if it ran any more he said he would send the money. We'll see.

I haven't found a fault with the car yet, though. (knock on wood) Its an absolute blast to drive.

I'm feeling it out right now. Might keep it until spring, ask around 19k for it.

Got a buddy to help pull the hartop off and check the soft top operation. Works perfectly, and the top is in nice shape.

I am going to have to change the crank sensor (random shutoff issue, hot restart issue), and it looks like there's a little access on the valve cover that's leaking a bit of oil. Continental tires have plenty of thread but are showing some age, not enough for me to do anything about it yet. Otherwise its a very nice car.

Ran OBD on it and no codes. Considering the thousands of other threads with the same issue solved its kind of a no brainer.

The car stalled during a very long light at a busy intersection. I was very pissed off, but got the bright idea to pour my bottled water on the crank sensor to cool it off.

Fired right up. Made it another 2 miles before another long light where it died again. This time I popped into a restaurant right where I died at, got a cup of water, poured, and off I went again.

I guess I've narrowed it down.
