Imagine how awful that would be in less snappy a color combo! I'm guessing there were some quite drab versions of that guppy......

My dad bought a 1997 SL320 sport cpo with 45k on it in '06. He payed 27k... You did fantastic. We bought it from the dealer, 4 days later it was in under 30 day warranty for all new hydraulics...

One thing I never explored was whether the headlamps were xenon or bi xenon? Care to share?

My neighbor, Ricky's hot, bikini clad 'n tanned step-Mom had a red and black Marlin. I called it a fish car. It's logo on the car in several places, was a fish jumping out of the water. The scales in question on the TA and MB remind me of fish scales.

By today's standards, it was an ugly-ass car - see below. But when you're a teenager, it looked OK to me at the time - as long as I could tease Ricky about the fish car. I think if I saw one of these on the streets today, I'd burst out laughing at it's ugly azz.......

Note the fish jumping out of the water on the left fender, and middle of the tail. What a funny looking car!

Interesting story behind this car. It was originally supposed to be much smaller and based on the compact Rambler American. It looked much better on that platform than when it was widened and stretched to fit the Rambler Classic platform. The reason was that AMC could not fit their big V8 into the American...
Look up AMC Tarpon for the way it was DESIGNED to look
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rambler_Tarpon

I have to admit a soft spot for AMC. I always liked their products from the Ramblers to the Javelin and even the Hornets and Gremlins and you cannot forget the Eagle, XJ and ZJ Jeeps. It is funny how design cues from those cars still end up in vehicles today...

Don't skin up any of the wheels on a curb...they are specific to the SA as far as I know, and can't be reman'd due to the integral trim on them...last time a customer had to buy one it was WELL over $1000.
