Colonoscopy, had yours yet?

I listened to everybody else's horror stories and put it off way too long. Had my first one tuesday and I can tell you, it's no big deal and the peace of mind is awesome. If you're 50 or more. Just do it.

I had one at 50 and am due again. I was awake the whole time and watched on tv what the probe was seeing. I hear they like to knock you out now. I will try to avoid that if I can. I don't do well with general anesthetic.

The last time I was knocked out was at the dentist.

When I woke up, my underwear was on backwards! (just kidding)

Now, if they only made the laxative taste like beer, more men would get tested . . . then you could "chug, chug, chug!"

I was offered the choice of being awake or out, I chose out. They gave me Diprivan, M. Jackson's favorite sleepy-time cocktail. Great stuff. Out like a light and no hangover at all. I can see why this stuff has potential for abuse among those who can get hold of it.
The prep stuff didn't taste too bad, I found that a small dram of rye every few glasses helped a lot. Doc said "if you can see thru it you can have it" so I took her at her word. They gave me printouts of some great pics which I plan to share at the table on Thanksgiving.

No, but I am flying to Orlando in February. Things could change by that point.

Oh wait, I though this was another TSA thread.

I'm supposed to be 15 years away from them, but I had one last month. Not the best results, but it won't kill me.

I started out thinking that the worst part would be having a camera on a six foot extension shoved up there. By the time I choked down one glass of the gallon of nasty stuff they wanted me to finish off, I thought that keeping that stuff down might be the hardest part. Once I had spent six hours on the toilet, I was pretty well convinced that the taste of the stuff was nothing compared to the aftermath.

The thing is, the actual procedure is nothing. It's the prep that sucks!

The local MB dealers around here throw in a free colonscopy with every service visit ....whether you want one or not.

And a free colonic for the wallet too.
