I dont like dry powder in any application where it can sit around for years being lightly vibrated like in a car. Over time the powder settles & then when you need it, you squeeze the handle & find the powder has packed down & the extinguisher appears to be constipated ! ![]() CO2 are about 5X the price of dry chem powder but in confined spaces like engine bays etc they do nearly as good a job as an old BCF.

Thanks Guys! I think I'll get one for the kitchen. the Mrs has been leaving burners on lately. I found one the other night on very low about four hours after the supper meal. I did not see the flames but when I walked by the area around the stove felt too warm.
Yikes!

So my string of bad luck continues with the Formula Ford. Today I started up the little beauty at the autocross course and in short order she was overheating. So I decided it needed the timing advanced....as retarded timing makes them get hot. So I had to do it by feel. Advanced it a bit, then a bit more then a bit more, then again and then back a bit. Now it seems pretty close and the little cooling fan I installed would keep it from overheating. Unfortunately by then the autocross had started and it was too late to participate. I did show it to a fellow who is looking to buy one. I named him a price including all the spares and the new hoosiers. He said the price seemed fair enough but he has two more to look at. He has owned a couple of FF in the past so he knows what he is getting into.
![]() So, now I'll see about running next time and try to figure out how to check the ignition timing.

Today I ran it at Connersville. It rained off and on all day. Its a bumpy slippery asphalt track anyhow and I won my class and competed with a pesky F Mod car all day for fast time of the day. There were three guys running it and they were fast. They beat my best by 1.5 seconds in the end.
I was slithering around pretty good and holding drifts. I got sideways in the slalom and swore I was going to hit a cone with my back tire sliding sideways but somehow collected it up and missed the cone. Great fun. The national champion in C mod did not show up. (fortunately for me).

Very glad to hear you had some actual fun with the beast for a change. Perhaps the cloud has lifted and you can get some dry runs in.

There is a fellow who comes to our meets and takes pictures professionally. He got about a dozen of me running. The detail is pretty fantastic. I can look at the angle on my suspension and see that the car is leaning. I can also see the bottom of the tires folded under under cornering load. By the ride height displayed I also see I can lower the rear of the car a little for more grip there and I plan to do so. Also I can see a wiff of blue smoke which suggests I may still have too much oil in the dry sump.
I plan to buy some of the pics so I can post them here and do whatever I want with them. In the pictures I look completely relaxed yet focused which I think is what I want to achieve. They do not show that in one section when I am hammering the throttle and cornering near the limit that the bumps were blurring my vision and I was gritting my teeth.

Here is a copy of the picture I bought.
Its hard to see it but the car is leaning over on its suspension. Note the deformation of the left rear tire and the angle of the suspension coming out of the body work.
