It has been said many times that there is no "control" over threads...nobody owns them or anything and sometimes they can stray off the intended topic. The power that the OP has is to close or delete the thread at their discretion though--and that one is up to you Joe. Personally I think its rather sad that grown ups cannot have discussion about something like this without offensive language and derogatory terms, whether its politics, homosexuality, religion, etc. The problem is that when something is so entrenched in one's everyday life and impacts many of their views, some have a tendency to lose their cool when another conflicting perspective comes along--precisely why some folks should not post in OD if they have that characteristic.

I don't know of a religion that promotes sexual behavior between same sexes. You seem to be looking for one that does.

That is why I asked you if you would support a religion of homosexuality, as it's primary tenet? And if not, WHY not?

Correct. I'm well aware of the factoid that the thread author can at his discretion remove the entire thread.

In addition to that factoid, if any Moderator deems you to be trolling your own thread, you get it CLOSED, and an infraction.

davidmash may not realize those important facts....

Perhaps you would prefer the word perversion instead of deviant. I believe that better describes the religious and moral aspects on the subject.

It is still not your thread. I post my personal opinion. My opinion on gay rights is very consistent. The thread I started (not my thread) was shut down because some folks cannot respect the rights of others. Some folks have to spew their hateful BS and then get their panties in a wad when they are called out for their behavior.

I do not expect any religion to support any sexual activity. But as Kerry pointed out earlier there are religions that accept gays and anyone else who wants to be apart of their religious institution.

I do not even know what trolling is much less care. I try and state my opinion in a respectful way. The one and only infraction I have I got on purpose. BB said something way out of line IMO and I called him a bad name and I got dinged. I knew it would happen when I hit the submit key and I did not care. That is the only one I have and it will be the only one I get unless I decide to get another one. Being a jerk will get you busted, I do not think I am one and I do not try and post like one. There are certain issues that get my dander up and I might dance on the line but I know where it is and I do not cross it.

No, that describes your religious based bigotry. It has nothing to do with morality. The terms I use are sex or making love. The same emotions are involved and it is not pejorative, judgmental or hateful. How ever it is a free world so feel free to use what ever term you like. Come to think of it, please continue to use your terms, they clearly show who you are and what you think. I like people who do not hide their hatred, easier to avoid.

Which religions would those be, that you quote kerry on above?

Why would you not support a religion that held promotion of homosexuality as it's primary tenet? Since all religion is man made, why would you not support such a religion? Homosexuality seems to be a fundamental building block issue to you as well as many others. It would seem to me that a singular religion devoted to that alone would sell, and sell well in 2010. Your thoughts?

It's not that hard to find. The Metropolitan Community Church was founded in support of gay Christians. Jerry Falwell's ghostwriter is a minister in that denomination. Although the gayest church I've ever been in was a Western Orthodox Church. I thought I was in some kind of SF camp performance and I think a lot of the parishoners didn't even realize what was going on.
