Good question, maybe a setting was changed somehow or maybe part of the "analog" circuit did fail. Either way, you should get better quality with HDMI.

I can't believe how much they get for HDMI cables in B&M stores. Online, they seem to be very cheap.

When I bought our (currently only) HD set, we went to the cable company to get a HD box for the new service, and I asked them to sell me a cable. Well, they wouldn't sell me one, but they did give me one for free.

But I'm not using it. The HDMI output on the cable box is several seconds delayed from the analog and RF (channel 3) outputs. Since I run an analog set in the next room off of the RF output, the sound delay was unacceptable so I went to component video for the HD set. Looks great.
