The point is not the deficit, it's who has control of the money supply and with that determines whether your deficit is 'healthy' or 'unhealthy'.

I wasn't sure what I heard in regards to the 1 million electric cars. 2015 is in about 4 years from, I don't think 1 mill. is going to happen by than, IMO.
Religions are indeed one the biggest problems humanity has to deal with. People can't accept that they exist because tyey exist. Period. I am all for taxing them.
Here is a matter of scale though:
The more powerful any institution appears throughout society, the less it is been taxed.

Intesting analogy, ain't it?

Which was the premise of my response, that it is convenient to label from past events, but not always accurate. Fiscal conservatives have been known to spend like "drunken Democrats" . . .

Which is why while I would vote for a Republican who IS a fiscal conservative, I cannot find one. What I have is a choice between a Demopublican and a Republicrat. After all, we have known for the longest time that Mom & Dad won't win the popularity contest as much as Grandpa and Grandma because M&D tell you that you have to do this, that or the other. G&G tells you that you can do whatever you want.

I watched Ryan's response and I kept waiting for him to respond. All he did was repeat a bunch of talking points and I thought he passed up a great opportunity to poke holes in Obama's logic. Since he didn't I figured he couldn't.

Then I watched Bachman's response and was distracted by her thousand yard stare routine. Then I figured out she was reading off of cue-cards. Her response was so weird that I could see why the Republicans did not want her to give it.

I though Obama's speech was OK, but it was about 61 minutes too long. He could have just said "We have a lot of work to do in these areas." Listed the areas, and said Goodnight Everybody!

Oscar Wilde once made a speech and here it is: "I have been rich and I have been poor. Rich is better. Thank you." It covered all the important points he had come to talk about, so it was a good speech. Obama could have had a speech that was just that quick.

The three rules of speechmaking: Be Funny, Be Brief and Be Gone.
