Vista problem.....

GF is trying to install printer driver for Epson stylus rx595. She went to website and downloaded drivers (4 times at 20 min each, and she has a 15Meg connection...) She then installs driver. Computer then says it needs drivers, searches for them, then says none found. She looked under control panel and the printer is still not listed. She says she installs it and then it disappears. Rinse, repeat... She unhappy...

A few suggestions:

Try changing the properties of the installer file so it runs as administrator (right click, properties, compatibility - I think)

Or simply try right click and select run as administrator

Epson also has Windows 7 drivers that are Vista compatible. Only an 11 MB download.

Make sure she's got the correct 64-bit or 32-bit driver for whatever version of Vista.

Whatever she was downloading, I don't know. I downloaded it from my computer (5 sec) and emailed it. Installed fine...
