That is true. But the thing is that its not really the USA making the Arabs wealthy. Most of our oil comes from Canada and Mexico. Its the rest of the world really. Saudi is only 3rd on the list of US oil imports.

I think that boat came out of Sturgeon Bay, WI. about 4-6 years ago...is it about 145' in length and is owned by a "gentleman" from Minneapolis? (An Ex-Communications Operations Type-Person) If I remember correctly, the crew is about 15 (+/- 2 or 3)... I'm trying to remember the guy's name and it's killing me that I can't think of it...Hughes...something on that order...

The price of driving on electricity from the grid is much, much lower than driving on gasoline.

Start by assuming 100% efficiency, and that your car takes 15 HP to move down the highway and get 30 MPG at 60 MPH. That's two gallons of fuel per hour, costing about $7/hour to run.

15PH is less than 12kw. That's then 12kwh each hour. Costs about a dollar and a half.

There's a whole lot of room for electrical inefficiency there, while still saving a lot of money.
