What's the beef with Obama's use of a teleprompter? When was the last time a president went without one? It seems like a good method for helping the speaker keep his thoughts organized.

He's way too addicted to it's use. His off the cuff answers at press conferences or interviews really make him look ...and respond... in an unflattering way. Like he's searching for answers. That's my impression.
And without script, he does wander off the reservation.

I mean, really, you should be able to go to a grade school and speak to children without a teleprompter. The man, young or old, who feels the need to have one in such a setting, is acting a little strange. Just my humble opinion, of course.

If we're talking about the same incident, it's long been shown that the President did speak to the children without a prompter; the widely circulated image was the President making an address to the press following that event, in a different classroom.

You do remember that, right? You're not just repeating old partisan disinformation . . .

That seems like a big "So what?" to me. Being able to speak without thinking doesn't have much to do with governing, IMHO.

Agreed. But neither does occasional word screw up, or falling down a set of steps, ( or botched burglary for that matter), or marital unfaithfulness, but the opposition will pick on whatever they can.
