Any Art Deco fans?

My first thought was that it's some type of fairly recent custom (120 mph speedo) inspired by the late 30's, but the ammeter argues against that.

You'll never guess.
Something with a flathead v8? At least it had a flattie when it left Herny Ford.

Whatever it is, happy trails with it.

You were very close. Buick had so many models pre-war that its hard to narrow it down.

This one is a 1941 Super 8 Club Coupe. This is the one of the faster versions with dual carbs and a better rear end for good highway speeds (hence the 120MPH speedometer).

The car is 100% original with 54,000 miles on it. Original paint with just the right amount of patina to look 70 years old but still present very, very well. The interior is completely original as well. The car runs and drives excellent with the original numbers matching engine. Cold starts without a wisp of smoke and idles smooth. Everything works as well.

I purchased it from the estate of the recently deceased owner. He bought it after his cord broke a crankshaft and he wanted something reliable that he could take on tours. In 10 years he put 5,000 miles on it with minimal repairs. He purchased it from a Buick collector who had it for decades doing a very conservative reconditioning of the mechanical parts. Preceding that it was traded in to a dealership in Indiana from the original owner when it was 20 years old. Rather than dump the car for practically nothing the dealer chose to store the car away as an investment. They covered the interior in clear vinyl (think Grandma's couch) and only ran the car occasionally to keep things lubricated.

The car comes with its original 1941 title along with the 2 cent stamp envelope from the state of Indiana it was sent in. Also comes with the owners manual, original showroom hang tags which were fixed to parts of the car describing all the features when it was new, and a 1941 sales brochure describing the entire Buick line.

I think there is quite a bit of money in the estate so getting money out of the cars was not a priority. They listed it on Sunday for what their father paid for it a decade ago Sunday evening. It was mine by lunch. For the hour I spent going over it he had 2 other phone calls on it, and I don't think it was his buddies putting me on.

Just when I was cursing Wichita and saying I have to travel to find anything interesting, this car pops up 3 miles away from my doorstep.

Good Lord, that's beautiful, Tyler.

When you posted this thread, the first thing that came to mind was that you had purchased a home in Orlando!
