Bavaria also do a really decent zero alcohol beer that tastes just like the real thing - ideal for a motoring forum? Anyway they apparently brew the beer as normal and then somehow or other extract the alcohol without messing up the taste.

Have any American / Canadian beer manufacturers done the same? When Molson first launched in the UK many a moon ago I was quite impressed with the hoppy taste but then they went and changed the taste to be a little more like Fosters => which in my opinion needs to be chilled to such a degree you can't taste anything - a bit like Budwiser...

Are you speaking of Bitburger?
I know where there's an orphaned case of the stuff sitting in the cooler of my local go-to beer store. Somebody ordered it and then backed out. I was thinking of picking it up as I like NA beer in the daytime sometimes. Thirsty for a beer while working but don't want the energy-sap that comes along with it.

Never tried Bitburger I'll see if I can get some.

I'm now alcohol "intolerant" but I still like the taste of beer from time to time. I was really pleased when they started to brew non alcoholic stuff that didn't taste like the cat's litter tray...

When I was in Iraq we weren't allowed to drink, so there were several varieties of near beer available. Bitburger actually tastes like beer. The other ones, not so much.

I quite like the Bavaria stuff - well I did until they changed the recipe - it now tastes more like Budwiser; even when I was drinking I hated Bud. You have to almost freeze the stuff so you can't taste it.
