I don't understand this thing the left has with Hitler.

Down the street from me the guy has a Hitler/Bush bumper sticker and here is a Hitler/Coulter poster.

I just haven't seen (excluding the wacko's) posters of Obama, Pelosi, Clinton, Reed, Gore juxtaposed with Hitler/Nazis.

I mean have whatever opinion you want of Coulter, her views are no more extreme than Bill Maher's and she's smarter and prettier so why does one need to make her Hitler's sex slave?

And why am I the only one who says, time-out, this is not right?
That whole post is ridiculous. I dont know anyone who has any obsession with nazi's I was just looking for pics of the hag and there were some of her in nazi junk, What I really dont get is Christians United for Israil?? that really makes no sense.

Guess you do not know your Christians!

There is a large faction of conservative/ fundamentalist Christians who believe that the nation Israel remains God chosen people. Therefore, for those people, the OT promises to those countries that help Israel, are still in force and a motive to assist Israel.
Other, still conservative, and Bible-believing Christians understand that God's "Israel" of the NT is simply all people of faith; not the nation Israel.

I know some christians- and have told some they clearly got a few screws loose. One I know is also dogmatically political/fundimental right wing conservative.
NT-- Im thinking you mean the customized version contrived to please king james. Which one do you go by- the bible or the altered one?

You'll have to educate me on that. I have a few textural issues with some of the texts used in the KJV, namely the TR (textus receptus), but I know nothing of anything altered in the Bible to suit King James

Hey, hey, hey...I said it was a biased source. (Although maybe you didn't see the previous post.) It was sent to me and I found it to be interesting and had some questions about it. I'd love to see some projections from alternative sources. Unfortunately there aren't many completely unbiased ones.

panZZer,
You're losing me. Whatever you are talking about has no bearing on Scripture; only some people's perversions of it.

MS,

You don't want to get involved in this. A scholarly answer wont please him. Nor a personal or a Christian one.

As you know there is more material, tangible, reputable extant fragments and manuscripts of the NT than ALL other ancient documents combined.

Prof. Bruce Metzger, Princeton died in 2007. There are 3 million Google links about him. Probably more theologically liberal than you, I and many of the believers we know. Scholar of impeccable credentials categorically stated that there are no significant theological discrepancies in any of the thousands of reputable manuscripts and fragments.

If you're interested in the KJV I have two recommendations, "God's Secretaries: The Making of the King James Bible" by Nicholson, an historical and political analysis of the KJV. Also Ehrman's "Misquoting Jesus" a popularized scholarly discussion of biblical interpretation. Both are largely secular perspectives.

the bible.

which tells us that methusaleh lived 969 (?) years?

that moses parted the red sea?

that noah placed two of each species on an ark?

that jesus was a man - yet immortal - yet died like a man, yet... wait for it ... rose from the dead?

need i continue?

all of you are completely brainwashed, and in the midst of a dangerous obsession.

sadly, you are not unique, as many people - especially americans - believe in such folderol.

since i was a child, i have interacted with people like you. it has not been pleasant.

additionally, you all seem to be zionists, as is a majority of our country. are you not aware of the genocide perpetrated by israel for the last 50+ years? and israel's illegal possession of nuclear weapons (200+) in violation of every nuclear arms treaty signed in the last 56 years?

get a grip!

One of the most interesting things I studied in college as well as seminary was the textural transmission of the Bible. The biblical texts we use today are far more numerous, and far more reliable than any other document from antiquity. I have a Greek NT which identifies all the variant readings for every passage, and gives the mss documentation for each.
