sjh's test puts me way over to the statist end of the spectrum, which does not make me happy. The test in the above link puts me just slightly to the libertarian side which more closely matches my infallible preconceived notions. I therefore declare it to be the superior test.

Gee, different test, different results. Wonder if the questions and the way they're asked/scored might reflect some sort of bias in the test maker?

FWIW, this more closely represents where I view myself than the previous test. Which obviously reflects my own bias.

Without a "neutral" or "no opinion" choice, which I would have chosen on at least a couple questions, it forces you one way or the other. I don't think I'm that far to the right, although the results weren't drastically different from the first one.

The funny thing is, i come out slightly in the bottom right quadrant. Practically nobody is in that area with me. Gets kinda lonely...... At least Friedman is in that area too. I'm beginning to think maybe they need a third dimension to their graph. Somehow pull apart the spending issues from military from govenment size from the social issues some more.

I was 4.00/-7.33. But the questions were ridiculous. In reality I'd be ??/-10.

Hey, Bob, you've got some company down there. I wouldn't say good company, but company nonetheless.

Gee. Everyone had every chance to input whatever they wanted.

I cannot think of a less biased examination.

Anyone who wanted could participate. The protocols are all done in plain site. Any other quiz/exam can/could be used.

Your analysis is erroneous.

I'm game to use whatever folks wish.

However the first question told me it is a very poor test. Choose between two highly divisive options - pick either world-wide good or profit-drive bad.

You call that a useful exam?

How about this for a first question, "have you stopped beating your wife? Anser yes-or-no"

Suggest an alternative. I have no attachment to this one.

However I disagree with your analysis. I doubt you can find a 10 question exam that would be more informative over such a wide range.

It's easy to be a wise spectator.

It's not my test. I have NO preference for it. The alternative that has been suggested is much more distorted (IMO).

Everything is done in the open. I've not hidden anything.

Fine.

All I'm saying is that I picked the first thing that came up in google.

There is no intent to distort on my part.

The first question on the suggested alternative test is so stupid/biased that it does not interest me. I find most of the questions on the first page distorting and not revealing.

The inherent problem - 10 questions to analyze someone's world view. The one linked above I thought was much more comprehensive but still has its faults (no neutral or skip button was my personal gripe as well). I chose to be a spectator simply because I didn't want to corrupt the results with what I know is not representative of my views. I would say -1 leaning left and -2 libertarian would have been what I projected (-3.5 is a bit far).
