Anything German is off the charts rare and parts have to be custom made so you can't really run them, because if something breaks its like a year and a ton of money.

Also last Panther I saw for sale which wasn't a real one was $400k. Only a handful of real Panthers and Tigers in the world left and when they come up for sale they are very, very expensive.

T55's on the other hand can be bought all day long for $60k-$70k or less, and parts are not a problem to get. Also if you so desire the Russians offer a complete line of upgrades including a 1,200hp diesel.
All very good points although the big question is whether or not CT would let you register it.

Is the T64 legal to be bought yet?

The ones that seem to come to the states come from Poland or Bulgaria. So in theory any Soviet armor that went to those countries can be bought. The question is just what they want for it. I heard T72's might be coming soon but I think the Bulgarians want a few bucks for them.

Problem is when you get that "new" your now competing with other governments who want them, and they can pay a lot more. Where as the T55 is pretty outdated by just about everyone's standards.

As for registration, I don't really care. Its not something you can run down the road enough for anyone to care, they are to big.

Sale military vehicles for collectors / PRODUCTS & SERVICES - STV GROUP a.s.

Never mind T72's are in stock and are for sale. Wonder how hard it would be to import?

Some websites even claim I can get my choice of variant...do I want the command version or the up armored one with ceramic armor?

As long as it doesn't have a bayonet lug you're probably ok.

Yes the T-64 is actually still quite capable of holding it's own with the upgrades.

I can't wait to see you bring one of these out for a parade

Yeah that would be dangerous!

Tigre II Musée des Blindés Saumur - YouTube

A King Tiger would be amazing but good luck, only a handful left. Oh skip to 33 seconds and see how it compares to that poor little Sherman.

I would not want to be in a Sherman when that high velocity 88 was pointing in my direction.

For example right now I bet he is thinking how much longer he has to wait for what he REALLY wants.

Someone will have to make sure there's no ammo on board first - we wouldn't want to put too much temptation at your fingertips.
