You can only elect those that put their name up on the ballot. Those that do have the same agenda. That is like going to the ACK dog show and trying to buy the winning pony in the contest. What you have to realize is that the personality of the people that put their name in the contest are of that same mentality. Anyone who can do better will not want to deal with the bureaucratic mess that comes out of it. In Microsoft, Bill Gates is king. Now why would he want to give that up? As long as he follows the law, the can do what he wants within the company. As a congressman, he'd have to still suck up to the others. But lets say you talk to him. What can you tell him, given the current situation that would encourage him to run? Give up his autonomy for some silly goal that will never get done?
