I love the Who too. I have their Tommy albumn. They don't get played on the oldies station hardly at all considering how influential and popular they are and were.

When I was in the Army, we absolutely wore out a Tommy album. A new guy showed up with a fresh copy and someone had gotten a reel to reel tape deck, so we made a recording from his fresh copy and wore out the tape.

There is a great documentary about The Who on streaming Netflix, did you know that The Who was formed by a producer to make a show/movie about an upcoming band? One thing that blew me away was Roger Daltrey was always sort of on the out of the band at the beginning Pete and John were the musicians and Roger was just a vocalist. It was not until Tommy where Daltrey came into his own other than being just a vocalist.
Oh and who is the greatest band?? Just google it the only band that matters - Google Search |

Not to mention the best Super Bowl halftime show (a few years ago) I can recall.

The rock and roll from britian back in the day took over the US like an invasion .The way they could right a song to start off slow ,then build up ,and finally sweep the last with high riffs and druming from another planet was their trade mark.

Going to have to differ with you there - I thought Prince's show was above, beyond and just bananas.
