Yes it is. USPS is for cheap rates. Not sure how predatory you can get when I simply charge you what Fedex or Fedex Ground or even UPS charges me. OTOH, if I tack a handling fee, depending on the complexity of the packing, that is a different issue. In my case, I'd rather not sell it than to screw with USPS later on. However, if you insist, I will send it USPS but YOU bear responsibility. I ALWAYS quote Fedex Ground or Fedex.

I will continue to use it----Yup, you have to know how to deal with the post office these days, and it perhaps shouldn't be that way.
The good ole days are gone.

FED -EX is the most DISFUNCTIONAL outfit in the shipping buisness--good luck finding out which one of the 6 different branches you are dealing with---I WONT and Dont.

I got my beautiful old crusty ornament and it def has the 100 yr old patina,
please click on my auctions to see if I can fix you up with any vintage car or truck parts---it's what keeps the wolf from the door at the moment! ( I dont ship FED-EX)

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

(local2ed-- I got a 37 dodge parts car that might have a appropriate rear bumper).

If you notice the shipping label "USPS is a preferred shipping service on EbAY".

I DO know how to deal with them. I avoid them for better service that can be provided by others. I don't work around your incompetence or stupidity if there is another choice.

Perhaps? Really?

As is my patronage. I cannot afford the headaches. I want to ship to you and KNOW where it is and when it arrives. I don't want to tarnish my reputation or have you send me emails asking "Where is my purchase?". Your payment sits in my paypal account until you send me email saying you are satisfied with the purchase as stated. I don't want to keep your money there till USPS decides to release the merchandise to you.

Good for them. Should Ebay decide to deal with the headaches, it won't be what I prefer.

Your ignorance or stupidity is perhaps -being appathetic if a customer who has to deal with pick-up at the depot, They go to The fed ex outfit, fed ex says no thats not us--Thats another fed ex--You have to go to the one in the other buisness park, That one tells you the same thing, and the third branch tells you the same---You end up fighting hedwater traffic to a crummy hub in a crummy undustrial section of a city 20 miles away tracking down your part---because you work for a living and the appathetic truck driver will drop your package off--unsecured on your doorstep-to get stolen, and they figure they have done their job.--No way to prove the item even got there..................................

I must confess I have never had that experience. When they drop off, it is listed on the receipt as "Left on front porch" or "Left behind shed", etc, etc. When I received a package that needs a signature, it is CLEARLY written whether it is Fedex Ground or Fedex. The address is clearly written. Perhaps they differ where you are but that is how it was done in Madison till a year ago when I moved. I can't say for sure now but that is, till Apr of 2010, the way it was done.

And the difference between that and USPS is??? They too leave it on your doorstep or in your mailbox. That is, unless in your area they sit and wait till you come home and hand it personally to you. Do they do that?

Could be that its an entirely different situation in a small town like say Prescott Az---maybe all the disfunctional branches are combined into one depot like its supposed to be.
Here --on the edge of an international airport-with a main fed-ex hub--of some kind???????? --the official address says Dallas Tx So i assume my crate is at the main Depot-- --
Ping pong time
And it took three strikeouts to filally find a competent enough employee who would take the time to track it--Even though--"thats not US Thats those OTHER Fed-ex!"
contractingly dealing with UPS hold for pickup---Guess what Jack---You're dealing with UPS, Not some other branch, Not some other branch, Not some other branch, Not some other branch, Not some other branch, or now kinkos, You're just dealing with UPS, The only thing that works in my ebay world is UPS hold for pickup--or US mail with a delivery conformation. The issue has been discussed here before and major consensus here-and the ebay world, Swampyankee CLK and everyone else says the same things I do about Fed-ex.
anyone thinking that a potential buyer is a looser because the wont go along with whats convenient--Thas not a winning attitude-At All.

Well, I do prefer Fedex/Kinkos but I don't think UPS is that bad that I wouldn't use it. In truth, I would use whichever one is more convenient at the time.

My observation is that people use USPS because it is cheaper than Fedex or UPS. As I mentioned, if you so choose, I will use it. The catch is that I will email you sending information and I wash my hands off the matter if that is the delivery you choose. UPS and Fedex have had lower incidences of problems with me. USPS has lost several packages and the tracking hasn't been the greatest as is their customer service. If the package doesn't get there, I don't want to hassle with the USPS people and I certainly don't include "PanZZer's Guide to handling USPS" to people I work with and hope they can do it. Again, I will get involved if it is Fedex, UPS, etc, etc but I will send you proof of postage and wash my hands for USPS, winning attitude or not.

They told me it was the vendor's fault, and the vendor assured me they shipped the piece (small place). I went back to the vendor who took care of me and sent a new one out via UPS. Strangely, about 5 hours after I opened the claim, the package mysteriously showed up at my local post office (tracking info completely devoid of information until just that point). Funny how that works... Anyways I will NEVER ship by USPS again. This one was too much of a close call. Anyways she was happy in the end I actually have 2 rings now (the one from USPS was damaged, go figure) and I haven't had the chance to send it back yet.
Did you show Newman the ring before you bought it?

Well I like fedex. never had a problem. I called USPS today and spoke to them again and they could not even tell me where the package is. It has not been scanned since they last reported it was undeliverable. That was two weeks ago. I called ebay and they told me they might be able to do something if USPS could say why they could not deliver it and we all know thats not going to happen since they couldnt tell me where the package is or the address that was marked on the package. I might as well have called my neighbor and asked him where my package was. I opened a case with paypal tonight. Maybe they can help me.

Basic logic with paypal or ebay. You did not recieve the package and the shipper states it went back to the seller. He has his merchandise and you should have the dollars. Not he has the both the merchandise and your dollars.

I personally would not use ebay or paypal if my acount was not backed up by a credit card. This being not backed up with a credit card is why they fluffed you off in my opinion. On the otherhand I realise that if I used the recourse through the credit card they might cancel my account.
