Time machine.

If you had the choice of calling up Mercedes and having them make your dream car what would it be like?

Mine would be the last production year of the T123 station wagon with the OM648 LA 6 cylinder diesel engine from the W211 E320 CDI and the 711670 six speed manual transmission. Rear wheel carrier would also come from W211 and rear air suspension. ASD diff lock would come from W124 along with the front wheel carriers. Color would be black on black with leather interior.

Something along these lines:

You might need some wider tyres on the back.

How about a W126 alloy trailing arm conversion too?

What would you do with the SLS?

There would be no SLS the car would be made from scratch with the air suspension. In my opinion the W211 rear wheel carrier will have a longer life than the W126 and offer more driving stability.

A 560SEC with a 5 speed manual, and also a version with a bluetec diesel engine and a 5 speed manual mated to it, as another choice.
