Prolly came equipped. Sounds like its an ex-race-car, which would make sense. Cloth is lighter than leather.

I would love a plaid/cloth interior on my 55.

exactly.they need to keep these old cars on the road.trailer queen's and museum pieces are for the big boy's but the average joe with say 10 to 20k to spend gets left in the dust.alot of guys lust for the car they had in high school or got their first piece of action.they don't care about full 100 point resto's,they would be happy spending 10k on a car that brought back the memory.

99% of the cars sold at Barrett Jackson are not even 90 point cars, a tour through the parking tents will show that within a couple of rows. I had to remind my brother in law this week that buying at a national auction means paying the highest price possible, so this is not a place for bargains, nor is it someplace to bring boring, cheap or fixer upper cars.

The 1955 Mercedes 300SL Gullwings certainly did. I saw one of them 14 years ago in Colorado Springs at a MBCA show, my wife sent me to.

Once I even had a DATE show up in that attire, so I said:

"Nice dress, sweetheart..

Who shot the COUCH?"
