First bike...1972 Yamaha 80 Mini Enduro

Second bike...1976 Kawasaki KZ440

Third bike...1989 Kawasaki 454LTD

None of the pics above are the actual bikes, just internet fodder. I've had 3 others, two of them being Harleys, and one was a Big Dog Custom basket case.

Mine was a 1958 Triumph TR6 650cc. Bought it after my last tour of duty in RVN and toured Canada when I ETS'd out. Spent about a month on the road but it took two months for the feeling to come back to my buttocks. Think it had about the same amount of horsepower as my 300SD.

Here is a link to a vid of my Yamaha R5 Rat bike. I bought a lot of 4 bikes. 2 identical 75 Yamaha RD350s, the rat bike in the vid and a DS7.

I put DG pipes on the Rat plus MotoCarerra rearsets. It has Dyna Coils, electronic ignition, fully adjustable drop down Z-bars and a K & N filter with Y pipe intake. About $1000 in parts but you would never know looking at it. I love riding it. People hear it coming and look at it like "WTF is that?!" It runs great as you can probably tell from the vid. I spent a ton of hours pulling the carbs to get the jetting right.

I do like the Fat Boy Lo but after the work I am doing to the Superlow, I am not sure I will part with it. Somehow the Fat Boy Low feels "righter". Not sure why.

Felt like it when I sat on one. Still, I will concede that sitting on one and owning one for a period of time is different but I would think that it might be a worthwhile investment if I didn't have so much time and money tied up in the Superlow.

Yes - the 2 stroke 500 you mention as well as its big brother 750 were the ultimate straight-line speed machines of that era. Their drawback was a speed-to body-weight ratio being out of whack.

Great bikes nonetheless.
Yep, the H2 was the fastest production bike in history at the time. Then came the Z1 and it claimed that perch. Kawasaki was going to replace the H2triple with an inline 7504 4-stroker. Then Honda cranked out the CB750. So KHI went back to the drawing board and out came the 903. When they tested it in the US, they camo'ed it up to look like a Honda 750 to the public.

Best bike to have? A lanky blue eyed blonde told me a long time ago: " You don't get laid on a Honda" (she was right about that)
I'll take my HD thank you.

Yep - 50cc, 3 horsepower engine with oil injection and a three-speed semi-auto transmission. The transmission was key to wasting the 5 hp Briggs and Stratton-engined minibikes in my neighborhood, as they were one-speed vehicles with centrifugal clutches.
