There are some of you that evidently don't keep up with the news. Last week, Thursday I think, B.O. said that the private sector is doing fine.

Obama: ?The private sector is doing fine?

Exactly as I figured Larry, a source that doesn't contain what Obama actually said, in context. Perfect for you. Whyn't you post the full text of Obama's comment and then explain to us what's so awful about it? You still haven't explained where he said "everything's good".

It's only trolling if you are attacking the sitting president's party...

Not true. Attacks on GW were rarely, if ever tagged as trollish when he was the sitting President.

Since when does posting factual current events constitute trolling?

How is "everything's good" factual? Barack Obama never said that. You claim he did. He didn't. Could it be that your penchant for wild-eyed hyperbole has just a teeny tiny little bit to do with why you're not getting a lot of sympathy in the pipeline thread?

Well what did you expect? It has already proven that Obama is a communist Muslim born in Kenya. Between memorizing the Koran and studying the works of Marx, Lenin, Trotsky he simply didn't have time to learn about capitalism. If you don't believe me just ask Larry about the anonymous email he received that proves it's true.

Increasing debt. You know, like we've done for the past 50 years except for a brief bit of sanity in the late 1990's.

B.O. is indeed ignorant regarding capitalism, but not for any of the above made up reasons.

B.O. has never so much as run a Lemonade stand on his front lawn as a kid. He has NO executive experience whatsoever. If he would release his information we could even see where his college money came from and for sure it was NOT from him EARNING it, which is what capitalism is about. Taking handouts does NOT teach you about capitalism.

BTW, I think I know why he THINKS that "The Private Sector is doing fine." It's because honeywell convinced him that everyone was buying a THINGAMAJIG for their furnace.

Well there was just no demand for lemonade in Kenya so a lemonade stand just didn't make business sense.

Remind us again how the economy did when the great oil businessman George W. Bush was in power. How did this great business man leave the economy after eight years in charge?

If you had been paying attention, the President has already stated that he has repaid his student loans at a speech before college students this year. That's where the money came from. If you think a loan is a handout, then all of us with mortgages are on the dole as well.

To date, you still haven't responded to my query about which president you believe had sufficient business background who substantially improved the US economy or government spending situation. I still haven't heard what it is about a business background that is particularly beneficial to being president. The jobs are not directly comparable, yet some seem to think it is.

I'm no Bush fan either, but it took him a LOT longer to accrue debt. B.O. holds the record for rate of debt accrual, and this was after his campaign promise that he would cut it in half. He also holds the record for the slowest recovery after recession.

BUT, OTOH B.O. has sold more thingamajigs for furnaces than any President in history.

edit:

I stand corrected! He did NOT pledge to cut the debt in half. He pledged to cut the deficit in half. Either way he has come up short by a LONG way, wouldn't you agree?

Technically he said "Fine."

Video of the actual Obama quote:
Quote:
The truth of the matter is that, as I said, we created 4.3 million jobs over the last 27 months, over 800,000 just this year alone.

The private sector is doing fine. Where we're seeing weaknesses in our economy have to do with state and local government. Oftentimes cuts initiated by, you know, Governors or mayors who are not getting the kind of help that they have in the past from the federal government and who don't have the same kind of flexibility as the federal government in dealing with fewer revenues coming in.
It's not much different than the subsequent hammering McCain took after his "the fundamentals of our economy are strong" comment the day after Lehman Bros. filed for bankruptcy.
