First you have to define what a Country is. Would Monte Carlo qualify?

And then you have to define what is 'great' and what is not. There are some things the US does worse than other countries, like mass transit, but then that depends on where you put mass transit on the scale of greatness.

"Adequate for our needs," was the reply. The Emir then thought of the US as a great country.

So is the US the greatest country in the world? Well, so far it is working well for me. I guess you could say it is adequate for my needs.
