If president Obama actually used the time and energy he spends blaming George Bush and others for this countries problems he could probably get something done. The only thing he has accomplished is rack up more debt than any other president in US history…..wait that is probably somehow linked to George Bush right?

Yes, especially since the former President left the country just the way he found it when he took office, if not better! He balanced the budget, used his stewardship to put us all on the right economic track through fiscal resposible action and across the board reductions in spending, while making sure that tax dollars were not wasted. He did all these thing while rasing American educational standards so that we are on track to being the best in the world . . . Right?

Unfortunately, you are probably right. Not because the GI's are not up to it, or the technology is not up to it, but because the US electorate will lose their stomach for it. I have lost my stomach for it.

if no one is shooting guns, that sucker is practically over.

you don't need a declaration of war to know you are at war. if someone is shooting at you, you are at war.

they were shooting at each other as recently as 2010. My point is thats been an armistice/ ceasefire for 60 years, at any time, that war could kick back up into active.

im sure in part that, but also an open conflict directly south of China would be of major interest to the Chinese.

They sided with the North Koreans in 1950 as allies during that proxy war, backed by the Russians, but they declined to side with the North Koreans in the 70s, at least in so far as open conflict and renewed warfare, so it would be interesting to see which way they would go today, especially being so much further involved with the US these days economically.

Its an interesting balancing act.
Either way, its not worth forcing the Chinese to take a decided position on the matter!

Unless we could get them to side with South Korea and the US, which is unlikely unless North Korea makes a monumental gaffe

That's why it's important that you don't mind full-time 100% surveillance of your communications, travel, and other activities.

I don't want to defend Obama here; I'm not what you'd call impressed. But I do feel that anyone who is a strong critic needs to make the case for how much better off we'd be under a McCain/Palin administration. I think it would be quite a challenge to make that case.

there is a pretty good wikipedia article on it, but they hate each other for religious and political reasons going back to the British partition of India after the Raj, and the rest of the world should be concerned for the reasons t walgamuth explains.

Yup churchhill was the best example of a double edged sword there ever will be-- The bad on his part all happened after the war--- creating israil and pakistan was a double Monkey fuc that the world has been trying to deal with ever since.

One cannot go back--------- but if he could, knowing what the 21st century is like having delt with his actions...............???
